We’ve been homeschooling for 6 years now. Some days go better than others! Here’s where I’ll share what’s working for us, and what we think needs some adjustment.
Finally getting around to posting something on this page. We’ve taken a lot of different approaches over the years, including Susan Wise Bauer’s The Well-Trained Mind, Lori Pickert’s Project-Based Homeschooling, Charlotte Mason-style, almost unschooling, notebooking and Layers of Learning. We have never tried an all-in-one curriculum; the closest to that we got was Moving Beyond the Page. Last semester, I tried using Shmoop.com for some of the kids’ classes, but too many, I think. Shmoop has a wide variety of possible classes, and I always have trouble overfilling my plate at a buffet. Last semester I was overfilling the kids’ plates.
